Target History provides material which is exciting, enjoyable and informative.

Each of the units consists of a play in rhyming verse and a set of ten worksheets. The material comes on a data CD containing printable A4 Sheets.

The specimen sheets below consist of the play from Unit 6 'Ancient Greeks' and worksheets from Unit 5 'The Victorians.'

Unit 6:Ancient Greeks will be of use to all teachers whose classes are learning about the Ancient Greeks and, in particular, those basing their work upon QCA Unit14, Who were the Ancient Greeks?  or Unit 15, How do we use Ancient Greek ideas today?

The play, with its accompanying commentary, has been written to develop the children's learning in the classroom. Sections of the play can be used as a basis for lessons or to consolidate learning at the end of sessions.

While the play can be shared with the class on the overhead projector, the author has found it useful to photocopy whole or half-class sets, the play itself providing an increasingly familiar and accessible source of information and key vocabulary. Such class sets can, of course, be used annually and prove invaluable should the play be performed. Children find the rhyming verse simple and enjoyable to learn and the play can be easily adapted for performance by different ages and numbers of children.

Unit 5:The Victorians again consists of a play and ten worksheets. This unit supports teachers basing work on QCA Units 11 and 12, What was it like for children living in Victorian Britain? and How did life in our locality in Victorian Britain?
